Union fleurs - International Flower Trade Association

Today Union Fleurs has members in 19 countries worldwide.


According to the Union Fleurs Articles of Association:

  • Full Membership is open to national associations and organisations of the flower trade with an important national representation.  
  • Associate membership is open to national associations and organisations of the flower trade for a maximum period of two years. On expiry of this period, full membership may be applied for, failing which, associate membership shall lapse.
  • Affiliate membership is open to individual companies.

Members of Union Fleurs benefit from a wide range of services and advantages enabling them to get a grip on the many challenges that face the floricultural trade today, including:

  • Regular news and information on international regulatory developments that might impact the floricultural trade
  • Exchange of views and expertise with the other Union Fleurs members
  • Influence decision-making and develop common positions on international developments through Union Fleurs advocacy and lobbying activities
  • Networking opportunities offered by an organisation with an international dimension
  • Access to a multilingual Brussels-based office for fast answers to key questions on policies and regulations related to the floricultural trade.

The total value of exports of cut flowers, foliage & cut greens and pot plants amounted to 10 billion EUR worldwide in 2009. Union Fleurs membership accounts for around 80% of this value and most major players in the worldwide export & import floricultural trade are represented in the organisation (e.g. the Netherlands, Colombia, Kenya, Germany and Italy).
